Head of Individual Giving

The Philharmonia is a world-class symphony orchestra for the 21st century. Led by its Principal Conductor & Artistic Advisor Esa-Pekka Salonen, the Philharmonia creates thrilling performances in the concert hall and reaches new listeners and participants through audience development projects, digital technology, and a learning and participation programme. With the recent announcement of Santtu-Matias Rouvali as the Orchestra’s next Principal Conductor, to succeed Esa-Pekka Salonen with effect from the 2021-22 Season, the Orchestra enters a new and exciting phase in its 75-year history.

Reporting to the Development Director, the Head of Individual Giving will develop and manage the Individual Giving Strategy at the Philharmonia Orchestra.  In particular, the post-holder will lead on the major gifts programme (£25,000+), the implementation of a higher level circle (£10,000+), as well as the delivery of the Conductors’ Circle and the Chair Endowments programme.  The Head of Individual Giving will also oversee the Friends and Online Giving Manager’s management of the Friends of the Philharmonia, the Klemperer Society (the Orchestra’s legacy giving programme) and the Online Giving programme, including the events programme, strategy to increase income from memberships and annual online giving fund.

Management Accountant

The Philharmonia Orchestra has a vacancy for an experienced Management Accountant within the Finance Department team.   This role has a strong emphasis on systems, both in terms of improvement and review, and regular maintenance. The ability to work collaboratively across Departments within the administration, and to build good relationships, is a key requirement.    

The successful candidate will be CCAB qualified/part-qualified, with excellent systems skills and strong analytical skills. The role calls for attention to detail, strong communication and collaborative skills, and a pro-active attitude.

The Philharmonia Orchestra has a vacancy for a Finance Officer. This role is key to supporting all areas of the Finance Department and the small but busy finance team. The post-holder will need to have a positive, can-do attitude and a flexible approach to work. Good organisational skills and a methodical approach are important for this role. Ideally candidates will be looking to further their career in Finance over time

Partnerships and Events Coordinator

The Partnerships and Events Coordinator is an administrative position which serves actively to support and participate in the Philharmonia’s corporate fundraising function. The role will lead on all administrative and logistical tasks related to the stewardship and development of the Orchestra’s corporate partnerships portfolio and its busy events calendar. The post-holder will play a key role assisting the Corporate Partnerships Manager to cultivate meaningful relationships with the Orchestra’s existing corporate stakeholders and prospective partners
