Symphonize Leicester (2018)

"It’s the best experience. It’s opened my mind because I was thinking I wasn’t going to like orchestral music and classical music, but now I like it. The way they mixed it up with urban music was just really good and I loved it." - Nidah, Participant

Symphonize is a pioneering creative partnership between Leicester-based Soft Touch Arts and the Philharmonia Orchestra, resident at De Montfort Hall. Symphonize was piloted in 2015 with great success and has since evolved to expand the project's impact on young people in the Leicester area. Watch the film to find out more about the 2018 Symphonize, in which young people from The Lancaster Academy, Winstanley School, Ellesmere College and the Highfields Centre worked alongside producers to create, compose, produce and perform their own tracks during an intensive week-long project. A small group of participants worked alongside VJ artist Pete Wallace to produce visuals for the performance.

Symphonize aims to empower young people. Find out more here: https://www.philharmonia.co.uk/education/schools_and_young_people/symphonize
