Mozart Sinfonia Concertante for Wind Soloists

--interval--

Franck Symphony in D minor

Enjoy idyllic an evening of glittering melodies and high-stakes drama as Robin O'Neill takes to the stage for a programme of French works framing Mozart's Sinfonia Concertante.

While some scholars argue whether Mozart wrote the Sinfonia, what none debate is the extraordinary beauty of the piece. Delicate, spirited and featuring arguably the most accomplished music for wind instruments written in the 18th century, this is a chance to hear the formidable skill of the Philharmonia’s wind section principals as they take centre stage.

Franck's Symphony in D minor closes the programme with power and beauty. Rarely performed outside France, the piece combines the emotional power of Rachmaninov with the excitement of Mahler and the technical skill of Brahms - don't miss this unique chance to hear such a beautiful piece live in concert.
