Auditions: Sunday 5 ā€“ Monday 6 April 2015.
Successful applicants will be invited to an audition consisting of a solo, 4.3 octaves A to C, Marimba piece of your own choice (without pianist) plus orchestral excerpts (with pianist) and a sight reading opportunity.
The orchestral excerpts and a piano accompanist will be provided by the Philharmonia Orchestra.

Auditions Monday 30, Tuesday 31 March and Thursday 2 April 2015.
Successful applicants will be invited to an audition consisting of:
A first round for which we would like you to prepare the entire FIRST movement (only) of either the Hoffmeister or Stamitz concertos ā€“ of your choice - including cadenza. Plus you will be asked to play some of the orchestral excerpts of the panelā€™s choice.

You may then be asked for a second round, later the same day, in which case we would like you to perform the first movement of either of the Bartok, Walton or Hindemith Der Schwanendreher viola concertos, chosen by you plus some further orchestral excerpts.
The orchestral excerpts will be provided by the Philharmonia in advance of your audition.

Head of Sales & Marketing

The Philharmonia Orchestra is seeking a Head of Sales & Marketing, who will be responsible for meeting sales and audience development targets across venues where the Orchestra promotes or co-promotes, and for bringing the work of the Orchestra to the widest possible audience through marketing, communications and audience development channels, including the Orchestra’s own website.      The successful candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ arts marketing experience at a managerial level, a proven track record of delivering audiences and box office targets for arts events, and a passion for classical music.

Salary:  £35,000 - £40,000 per annum, according to experience

Traineeships Currently Available

Development Trainee

The Philharmonia's Development Department is currently offering a six-month traineeship as part of the Orchestra's Arts Management Training Programme. The Development Department plays a crucial role, enabling the Orchestra to carry out its valuable work by fundraising from individuals, businesses and charitable trusts. This is a unique opportunity to learn about all aspects of fundraising, with a specific focus on the Friends scheme and event management. For further information, please read the attached document and watch our short film on the Arts Management Training Programme. 

Placements are full-time, voluntary and unpaid, although travel expenses (maximum equivalent of monthly travelcard, London zones 1 - 6, per month, during each Trainee placement) and a lunch allowance are available.
