| NOTES - Packaged Samples | |
|
This area allows you to download packages of samples, rather than individually. Because of the way our samples were recorded and logged we can't offer all our samples this way yet, but we're working on offering more and more this way. How the samples are named: Each sample in named by instrument, pitch, articulation and length. For example: vn_A3_arc_lng.mp3 is a violin sample (vn) at pitch A3 (see the diagram below) played arco (with the bow - arc) and long (lng) The samples are packaged using winrar, downloadable as a trial version from http://www.rarlab.com/ |
|
| Further info | |
| Note Pitch Throughout The Sound Exchange, Middle C = C4. The note numbers change every octave at C, so the octave above Middle C is called C5 and the octave below Middle C is C3. All notes between Middle C and the octave above are given a 4, thus: Db4 D4 Eb4 E4 ... C5, and so on.

Why not share your music? |
| Use of Samples - Please Note | |
|
You can use the samples to create any kind of musical composition, you can even share them with other people, but you cannot sell them. In other words, you have the right to use them, but they are not for re-sale. This means that the samples are free to use for creative musical purposes.
Even if you use them to create a No.1 selling CD (in fact we hope you
do), we will not make any charges or any claim for royalties. As long
as you have made creative musical use of the samples you can do as you
wish: we only insist that the original samples must not be sold to anyone. |
