This extract is the last section of the finale from this symphony, which is full of dark tunes based around a 'fate' theme. But this extract is a happy bit as the peasants have a party. Listen out for the timpani at the beginning, the woodwind and horns passing a theme between them, the cymbals and bass drum on the percussion hotspot and the strings playing their fast runs.
