Stepping Stones 08/09

Stepping Stones is a Key Stage One creative music project led by animateur/composer John Webb involving musicians from the Philharmonia Orchestra and Year 1 and 2 pupils from Southlands, Moggerhanger, St Mary’s Clophill, and Hazeldene Lower Schools in Bedfordshire.

The above film represents the culmination of Stepping Stones in the 2008/09 academic year, and includes footage from a performance given by the children at the Harpur Suite, Bedford Corn Exchange in June. The project, a collaboration between Orchestras Live, Central Bedfordshire Council, Bedfordshire Music, and the Philharmonia Orchestra, aims to provide fun, active, educational and inspiring creative music workshops for children, whilst improving teachers’ musical skills and confidence.
