What happened?
Over the course of a week of workshop sessions participants worked with top tutors and musicians from the Philharmonia to mix styles and ideas, creating exciting new music. A performance was held at the end of the week, which was recorded onto CD as well as for the Philharmonia’s website and YouTube.
What did they get out of it?
Creative Orchestra helped improve your skills for performing, listening, playing as part of a group, improvising and your general musicianship, as well as meeting like-minded musicians and having fun.
Who was it for?
Anybody who sings or plays an instrument of any description! flutes, fiddles, trumpets, saxophones, keyboards, didgeridoos, drums, MCs, singers, DJs… anything. Any style of music and anyone aged 13 – 18 was welcome. It didn’t matter whether you were a pro or a beginner on your instrument, there was space in the Creative Orchestra for everyone!
