GrooveSearch

In October 2006 we launched a search together with BT to find 20 short pieces of music or 'grooves' in any style or genre. We received hundreds of entries in our 4 age categories and a
panel of industry experts, including British soul singer Nate James and jazz pianist Zoe Rahman picked out the winning grooves which were arranged for 48 piece orchestra and recorded by the Philharmonia Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios in London.  Put simply, your music - our orchestra.

Abbey Road Studios (PA pictures)Once we'd chosen the Grooves, top arrranger (and Philharmonia violinist) Julian Milone set about orchestrating the grooves... not an easy task.  Then it was off to Abbey Road Studios and a very busy day of recording, with conductor Allan Wilson and sound engineer Peter Fuchs.

You can hear all the grooves in their fullest form by clicking here, but soon you'll be able to remix them yourself in our brand new Online Sample Sequencer... keep checking back!

Until then, here are some photos from the recording session.... with thanks to everyone who worked on the day. We'd also like to thank all our partners for all their support!
