The Philharmonia at the movies!

The Philharmonia Orchestra has been recording film soundtracks almost from the day it began over 60 years ago. Not only does the orchestra record for blockbuster films but recently the Philharmonia has been recording the soundtracks for video games, including the recent No. 1 game Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

The Namesake Recording

We went behind the scenes with film composer Nitin Sawhney, director Mira Nair and the Philharmonia Orchestra as they recorded the soundtrack for The Namesake, out later in 2006.

Safety Last

The Philharmonia performed the soundtrack to Harold Lloyd's classic silent movie Safety Last on February 12 as part of the Leicester Comedy Festival. We've got a clip of the film and soundtrack here!
