The programmes featured 2 of Shostakovich's most famous concertos: The 2nd Piano Concerto, and the 1st Cello Concerto with two top class soloists - Steven Osborne and Steven Isserlis
The programmes also featured Rachmaninov's Second Symphony, one of the most breathtaking pieces of romantic music ever written.
One of the features of the symphony is the clarinet solo in the third movement - we spoke to Barnaby Robson, Joint Principal clarinettist and asked him about this solo.
