Neil Tarlton has been Principal Bass of the Philharmonia Orchestra since 1990. Neil is an expert in all aspects of modern bass virtuoso technique and works with the London Sinfonietta specialising in avant garde solo bass works. He has recently published a treatise covering all aspects of double bass bowing technique, the first book of its kind.

Charles Dutoit and the Philharmonia Orchestra embark on an extensive tour of the UK and Europe, taking in venues in France, Switzerland and Germany as well as performances at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, Leicester's De Montfort Hall, Bristol's Colston Hall and Cardiff's St David's Hall. During the tour Dutoit will be joined by soloists Rafal Blechacz, Baiba Skribe, Janine Jansen and Arabella Steinbacher.
