About the composer
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy (1809 – 1847) was
a
German composer and conductor of the early
Romantic period. He wrote twelve symphonies, including the
Scottish (No. 3) and the
Italian (No.4) his two most popular symphonies, as well as operas, piano concertos and the
Violin concerto in E minor among many other pieces.
