One of the most exciting singers of his generation, British bass Matthew Rose recent highlights on the opera stage have included Bottom A Midsummer Night’s Dream at La Scala, Covent Garden, in Houston, Lyon and at the Glyndebourne Festival; Sparafucile Rigoletto at Covent Garden; Talbot Maria Stuarda at the Metropolitan Opera; Nick Shadow The Rake’s Progress at the Glyndebourne Festival and for the Royal Danish Opera; Figaro Le nozze di Figaro at the Bayerische Staatsoper; Leporello Don Giovanni in Santa Fe and at the Glyndebourne Festival and Claggart Billy Budd at the English National Opera.

His 2013/14 includes Bottom at the Metropolitan Opera, Leporello at the Deutsche Oper in Berlin, Enrico VIII Anna Bolena for the Opéra de Bordeaux and Talbot at Covent Garden. Future seasons see him return to the Glyndebourne Festival, the Metropolitan Opera, to Covent Garden and make his debuts at the Lyric Opera of Chicago.

In great demand on the concert platform, highlights have included engagements with the London Symphony Orchestra and Sir Colin Davis, Harding and Tilson Thomas; the Dresden Staatskapelle with Mackerras; the Los Angeles Philharmonic with Dudamel; the London Philharmonic Orchestra with Nézet-Séguin; the BBC Symphony Orchestra with Sir Andrew Davis; the Accademia Santa Cecilia with Pappano; and the Mostly Mozart Festival Orchestra with Langrée.  This season his engagements include the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra with Gardner; the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra with Jurowski; L’Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique with Gardiner and his debut with the Boston Symphony Orchestra and Dutoit.

In recital his appearances include the Brighton, Chester and Cheltenham International Festivals, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and in London at the Wigmore Hall.
