Peter was born in London where he started playing orchestral percussion with the London Schools’ Symphony Orchestra. Peter left school to study at the Royal College of Music. On leaving college he joined the Orchestra of the English National Opera, where he played for eight years before joining the Philharmonia. He has been a member of the Philharmonia Percussion section for the last twenty-three years.
When not playing for the Philharmonia Peter regularly freelances with other London orchestras and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe. He also enjoys being involved with the Philharmonia’s educational and community commitments.
Peter’s interest outside work include walking, bird watching and cooking.
