At age 11, Lulu made her concerto début with the Singapore Symphony Orchestra. She has frequently performed in recitals and appeared as a soloist with a number of orchestras, and her performances have been broadcast on Japan’s NHK television and China’s National Radio and Television.
Lulu’s teachers include Yao-Ji Lin at the Central Conservatory of Music, György Pauk at the Royal Academy of Music and New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow at the Manhattan School of Music. She also took part in a masterclass with Isaac Stern and worked closely with the Amadeus Quartet.
A prizewinner at China’s National Violin Competition, she also won prizes at the International Bromsgrove Festival Competition, as well as receiving numerous Foundation Awards while studying in London.
Lulu has toured extensively with both the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Verbier Chamber Orchestra, with whom she recorded for the EMI label. In New York, she has led ensembles performing regularly at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, and also served as concertmaster for Kurt Masur’s conducting workshop. She has performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra and English National Opera, prior to joining the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2011.
Aside from music, Lulu has a great interest in fashion, travel, fine food and interior design.
