Michael Fuller joined the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2010. Prior to the Philharmonia, he held a position in the Minnesota Orchestra for two years, and served as Assistant Principal Bass of the New Haven Symphony. Michael Fuller grew up in California where he began playing the double bass at the age of 19. After one year on the instrument, he joined the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra, a great experience that inspired him to continue on his path. Another year later he was accepted into the Manhattan School of Music in New York City as a scholarship student of Timothy Cobb, Principal Bass of the Metropolitan Opera. Other teachers include Leigh Mesh, Associate Principal of the Met, Shinji Eshima of the San Francisco Opera, and Barry Green.
Outside of the concert hall, Michael enjoys traveling, reading and exploring his adopted home of London.
