Michael Hurwitz, cello, has been in the Philharmonia since 1990. He began playing the cello at the age of eight with Yvonne Morris. He later studied with Christopher Bunting, Keith Harvey and Amaryllis Fleming. For 15 years he was the cellist of the Amphion String Quartet before joining the Philharmonia. He taught at Trinity College of Music for 10 years and now teaches privately.
