Ellen Blythe VIOLA

Ellen Blythe was born in Greenwich, London in 1982.

She graduated from King's College London with a degree in Music, and then obtained her Masters degree with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music in 2006, where she studied under James Sleigh.

Whilst at the Academy she was awarded with a Winifred Disney Award, the Josephine Euler Award, and the DipRAM, for an outstanding final recital.

Before joining the Philharmonia, Ellen was in the Southbank Sinfonia, also working extensively with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Ellen has also worked a lot with the London Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchestra of the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia Valencia, and is an active chamber musician.

Ellen lives in Walthamstow in North-East London.
