Helena Roques 2ND VIOLIN

Helena Roques was a student at Wells Cathedral School, Somerset, from which she went on to study at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester with Richard Ireland.

During her time at the RNC, she was also heavily involved in chamber music, performing with the prize-winning Roques Piano Trio, and the Stillman Quartet.

After graduating with honours, Helena read a Masters at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, studying under Krysia Osostowicz and playing 2nd violin in the Brodowski Quartet.

Prior to joining the Philharmonia Orchestra in 2009, Helena freelanced with a number of orchestras, including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Northern Sinfonia, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Ensemble 360 with Sir Trevor Pinnock, as well as guest principal and co-principal 2nd violin with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonia Orchestra and the English National Opera.

Helena is a keen baker, with other hobbies including running and knitting.
