Domingo Hindoyan has won several conducting prizes. In 2010, he was awarded the 2nd prize at the Cadaqués International Conducting competition, and in 2009 he received the 4th prize at the Malko International conducting competition. He was also a semifinalist at the Besancon conducting competition (2009) and a finalist at the Jesus Lopez Cobos opera conductor competition in Madrid (2008). Domingo has also been selected for the highly prestigious Allianz International Conductors Academy 2011/2012, where he will work with both the London Philharmonic and the Philharmonia Orchestra, under the guidance of world-renowned conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen and Vladimir Jurowsky.

He has conducted the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra, Basel Symphony Orchestra, Lausanne Chamber Orchestra, Madrid Symphony Orchestra and Cadaqués Orchestra among others. In June 2011 Hindoyan made a very successful debut with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande. Future engagements include Orchestre Philharmonique de Luxembourg, Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, Nancy Symphony Orchestra, and others.

He conducted his first opera Pedro Malazarte at the Feldkirch Festival 2011 devoted to Latin American music, which was received with great enthusiasm both by the public and the critics. In February 2012 he will conduct Elisir d’Amore by Donizetti at the Bregenz Opera in Austria.

Domingo Hindoyan’s background as a professional violin player brought him to play under the baton of Daniel Barenboim as a regular member of the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra (“WEDO”) since 2006. As a result of the relationship developed with Maestro Barenboim in the framework of WEDO, Hindoyan regularly works with Barenboim in Berlin and Milano.

Domingo Hindoyan has also worked as assistant to Claudio Abbado for concerts with the Simon Bolivar Symphony Orchestra in Lucerne and Caracas.
