In November 2012 he gives his US debut as Doktor in Berg’s Wozzeck with the Philharmonia Orchestra under Esa-Pekka Salonen’s baton in Berkeley, Los Angeles and at the Lincoln Center New York. Further highlights of the 2012-12 season include his return to the Netherlandse Opera Amsterdam and to the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie Brussels as well as performances at the Tschaikowsky Concert Hall Moscow. Until summer 2012 he has been a member of the Theater Sankt Gallen while guest appearances led him to the Vlaamse Opera Gent, Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, Vienna Festwochen, Theater an der Wien, Musikverein Vienna, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Nederlandse Opera, Staatsoper Stuttgart and Israeli Opera Tel Aviv where he worked with conductors like Jiři Kout, Kazushi Ono, Fabio Luisi, Daniel Harding, Carlo Rizzi, Antonino Fogliani, Antonello Allemandi, David Stern, Andreas Spering, Carlo Franci and Tomáš Netopil. His opera repertoire includes roles like Sarastro, Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Alfonso (Cosi fan tutte), Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Zuniga (Carmen), Don Pasquale (Don Pasquale), Commendatore (Don Giovanni), Old Hebrew (Samson et Dalila), Eremit (Der Freischütz), Struthion (Des Esels Schatten), Doktor (Wozzeck) and Des Grieux (Manon). Tijl Faveyts is a well sought-after concert singer and has performed Bach’s St. Matthew Passion and St. John Passion, Handel’s The Messiah, Haydn’s Die Jahreszeiten and Schubert’s Winterreise. He studied at the Conservatory in Brussels and at the University of Music in Vienna with Prof. Ralf Döring and Prof. Robert Holl. He obtained the Magister-degree with distinction. From the season 2013/14 he will join the ensemble of the Aalto Theater Essen.
