A recipient of numerous awards from the Martin Musical Scholarship Fund, Shiry will give her Royal Festival Hall debut in October 2012. As a member of the Countess of Munster Musical Trust Recital Scheme, she was invited to give recitals throughout the UK with duo partners Alison Rhind and Ani Schnarch. She was the 2012 Philharmonia Orchestra Meyer Award holder, performing under the batons of maestri Esa-Pekka Salonen, Lorin Maazel, and Christoph von Dohnanyi among others, including live BBC Radio broadcasts, and recordings under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy.

In 2012 Shiry completed her Masters with a First Class at the Royal College of Music. During her time there, she was the winner of the RCM Viola Competition incorporating the Cecil Aronowitz, Lionel Tertis and Lesley Alexander Prizes, and held scholarships from the Fishmongers’ and Drapers’ Company, and the prestigious Leverhulme Orchestral Mentorship Award. As Principal Viola of the RCM Symphony Orchestra, Shiry performed under the batons of Paul Daniel and Rory MacDonald, and worked with Vladimir Jurowski, Diego Masson and Bernard Haitink. She was selected to perform with the Sacconi Quartet as part of RCM’s ‘Brahms and his Contemporaries’ concert series, as well as the ‘Chamber Spotlight’ and ‘Behind the Iron Curtain’ series.

Shiry obtained a BA in Political Science at St Catharine’s College, Cambridge in 2010, where she was awarded the St Catharine’s Alumni Association Scholarship for two consecutive years. A laureate of the University concerto competition, giving a concerto performance at West Road Concert Hall in 2009, she served as Concertmaster of Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra, the St Catharine’s Symphony Orchestra, and the St Catharine’s Consort, with whom she toured the Far East in 2009, and as Principal Viola of the University Orchestra ‘CUMS’.

She has participated in numerous festivals, including Keshet Eilon International Mastercourse, the Bowdoin, Harmos, Soesterberg and Sulzbach-Rosenberg International Music Festivals, and Prussia Cove International Musicians Seminar. Since 2009 she has been a faculty member of the New Virtuosi International Mastercourse, where she supervises talented young artists from all over the world.

Shiry has performed in masterclasses for Ida Haendel, Gyorgy Pauk, Kim Kashkashian, Thomas Riebl, Haim Taub, Lars Anders Tomter, Hillel Zori and Alf Richard Kraggerud. As a chamber musician, she has performed alongside the distinguished Shmuel Ashkenasi, Shlomo Mintz, Atar Arad, Rudolf Koelman, Edith Peinemann, Evgenia-Maria Popova, Stephan Barratt-Due, Walter Delahunt, Hagai Shaham, and Latica Honda-Rosenberg, to name but a few. Since 2010 she has been invited to participate in the prestigious Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music Sessions, where she has given concerts with Ian Brown, Adrian Brendel, Min Jin Kym and Pekka Kuusisto, among others.
