Rosalind studied at Corpus Christi College, Cambridge, winning all the University’s prizes for musical performance, including the Nigel Brown Prize (2008). She completed her Master’s on a full scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama with David Takeno, where she won the school’s Max and Peggy Morgan Award (2010). She is now a Fellow at the Guildhall. She has participated in masterclasses given by Tabea Zimmerman, Barbara Westphal, Paul Silverthorne, Hartmut Rohde, and Thomas Riebl. She has taken part in the IMS Prussia Cove Masterclasses, and the International Holland Music Sessions.

Aged 17, Rosalind received the Gwynne Edwards Memorial Prize (for the most promising British entrant), and the European Union Chamber Orchestra Prize at the 2006 Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition. She frequently performs as a concerto soloist: including Bartok’s Viola Concerto, Bruch’s Double Concerto (with Thomas Gould, violin), York Bowen’s Viola Concerto in C minor, and Walton’s Viola Concerto.  A keen chamber musician, Rosalind has performed with the Dante and Endellion string quartets, and Arisa Fujita of the Fujita Piano Trio. Rosalind attended the Open Chamber Music Sessions at Prussia Cove this September, and has been invited to perform at the Prussia Cove 40th Anniversary Celebrations/ Sandor Vegh Centenery at the Salzburg Festival next year.  She has also played at many music festivals; including the Saint-Mère (France), Emilia Romagna (Italy), City of London, Northern Chords, Lincoln and Lincolnshire International, Chacombe, and Paxos Festivals. Rosalind has been the recipient of awards and prizes such as: a scholarship from the GSMD, a Musician’s Benevolent Fund Award, a Countess of Munster Musical Trust Award, first prize at the Cambridge University Musical Society Concerto Competition (2008), Winner of the Nigel W Brown Music Prize, Cambridge University (2008) (for ‘the student deemed by a panel of judges to be the finest instrumentalist of the year’) and the Philharmonia Orchestra Martin Musical Scholarship Fund Awards.
