Concerts with orchestras such as the Philharmonia, New York Philharmonic, Philadelphia Orchestra, NHK Symphony, Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunk and München Philharmoniker are now regular features of her calendar. She has collaborated with three generations of leading conductors including Claudio Abbado, Bernard Haitink, Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Jurowski and Andris Nelsons.
Following her solo appearance at the 2008 Last Night of the BBC Proms, the current season sees Hélène tour Europe with Daniel Harding and Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and Vladimir Ashkenazy and Sydney Symphony Orchestra. She also returns to the Berliner Philharmoniker and gives début recitals in Beijing, Shanghai and Seoul.
For Hélène Grimaud music is a limitless passion, regularly performing chamber music with a wide range of partners including Truls Mørk, Thomas Quasthoff, Rolando Villazon, Jörg Widmann, Clemens Hagen, and the Capuçons.
Recordings have always been important in Hélène’s creative activity. Her catalogue includes highly praised releases on the Denon and Warner/Teldec labels. An exclusive Deutsche Grammophon signing since 2002, Hélène is one of the top selling recording artists with a string of imaginative and highly successful discs encompassing Beethoven, Schumann, Brahms, Bartók, Rachmaninov and Pärt. Her most recent release of Bach, both in the original and in transcriptions by Busoni and others, has achieved both popular and critical acclaim.
