In the summer of 2006 Guy made his BBC Prom debut at the Royal Albert Hall performing the Ravel Piano Concerto with Esa-Pekka Salonen and the Philharmonia.
In recital, he has performed in cities including Paris, London, Washington, Milan, Munich, Berlin, Geneva, Vienna and Vancouver, and at La Roque d'Anthéron, City of London, Brighton, Cheltenham and Yokohama Festivals. The Berliner Morgenpost wrote of his recital at the Philharmonie “...Guy is a pianist of astonishing expressiveness, with immaculate pianistic technique...a man of the present even when he plays Schubert...”
In 2006 Näive released his new recording of Beethoven's Sonatas Op. 12, Op. 49 No. 1 and Op. 106. The Times said of Op. 106, 'The opening and adagio sostenuto exude confidence, while the dazzling scherzo shows off his extraordinarily virtuosic abilities.' Other solo discs include Prokofiev Sonatas 6 and 8 (Näive) and Brahms Sonatas 2 and 3 (Meridian). He has also recorded Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Paavo Berglund (Näive). His chamber music recordings include Beethoven and Brahms Cello Sonatas with Anne Gastinel and Brahms Clarinet Sonatas with Romain Guyot.
François-Frédéric Guy studied with Dominique Merlet and Christian Ivaldi at the Paris Conservatoire where he graduated with the Premier Prix.
