Recent opera performances include the roles of Sonya in War and Peace and Paulina Pique Dame and Olga Eugene Onegin at The Metropolitan Opera; Olga at the Royal Opera House in London; Sesto La Clemenza di Tito and Maddalena Rigoletto for Settimane Musicali di Stresa under Gianandrea Noseda. A commensurate concert artist, she sang Mahler’s Third Symphony with Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Marin Alsop and with the New Zealalnd Symphony Orchestra under Pieteri Inkinen, Mahler’s Kindertotenlieder in Japan with the Philharmonia and conductor Eliahu Inbal, and Verdi’s Requiem with Göteborg Symphony under Gustavo Dudamel.
She begins the 2009-10 season in concert with Anna Netrebko and Bryn Terfel at the Hamburg Laieszhalle under the baton of Emmanuel Villaume, then travels to Copenhagen to appear in the title role of Carmen, a role she also sings this season at Oper Leipzig and in Warsaw with Polish National Opera. She makes a special recital appearance in Vienna at the Konzerthaus to celebrate Shostakovich with conductor/accompanist Semion Skigin, before heading to Los Angeles Opera to make her role début as Fricka Die Walkure. Other appearances during the season include performances as Didon Les Troyens at the Mariinsky Theater in St Petersburg, Russia.
