The trio’s name is a reference to the precious Asiatic marble from the Chinese city of Dali, a material that is progressively and fastidiously carved to produce works of art. This work, this thoughtful and creative shaping, the symbols of Dali’s marble, reflects the Trio’s essential musical values. The contrasting itineraries and temperaments of its members, united at the same time by strong ties of friendship, bring a balance and a very special light to their formation.
The Dali Trio has appeared in many countries (Belgium, Germany, England, France, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Libya, USA, Japan, etc.) and has been invited by such recognised centres of music as the International Festival of Aix en Provence, the Radio France Festival in Montpellier, the Festival de Menton, the Festival du Vexin, the International Chamber Music Festival in Riga, the Kauffman Hall in New York, the Alte Oper in Frankfurt, annual recitals in the Palais des Beaux-Arts and Flagey (Brussels), in the Izumi Hall of Osaka among others. He also collaborates with eminent artistes such as Maria João Pires, Augustin Dumay, Abdel Rahman El Bacha, Jiang Wang and José van Dam. The Trio also regularly appears on the radios of France Musiques, RTBF, NHK, Mezzo, ARTE, Klassik 3.
The Dali Trio was recently awarded the prestigious ‘Chamber Music Award’ by the Philharmonia Orchestra in London, which earned it a close collaboration with the prestigious orchestra and some important promotion in the United Kingdom. The Leverhulme Fellowship at the Royal Academy of Music in London accords the Trio a residence and teaching assignments within the prestigious institution.
Future seasons will see the Dali Trio in, among other venues, London (Purcell Room, Southbank Centre), Paris (Auditorium du Louvres), Frankfurt (Alte Oper), Riga (Blackheads), New York (Kaufmann Hall), Brussels, Amsterdam, Aix en Provence, Verbier, Menton, Entrecasteaux, Nîmes, as well as Japan where the trio will go on a tour of more than ten major cities.
