He has won first prizes at more than a dozen national and international competitions, including the coveted Gold Medal from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, First Prize at the Brant International Piano Competition and the Award for Keyboard at the Royal Over-Seas League Competition. He has made appearances on BBC television and radio and has performed in the Edinburgh International, Chipping Campden, Brighton and City of London Festivals.
Ashley Fripp studied at the Purcell School and the Royal College of Music Junior Department with Emily Jeffrey and recently graduated with First Class Honours from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, where he is now undertaking postgraduate studies with Ronan O’Hora (supported by the Derek Butler and Craxton Memorial Trusts). Future engagements feature performances throughout the UK, Germany, Japan and Australia, and in October 2012 his recording of both Chopin Piano Concertos will be released on the Spektral Records label.
