She is closely associated with the Vienna State Opera (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk, Arabella, Salome, Die tote Stadt, Parsifal, Jenufa, Der Rosenkavalier, Lohengrin, Tannhšuser and Pique Dame), the Opera National de Paris (Salome, KŠtya KabanovŠ, Cardillac, Der Rosenkavalier, Wozzeck, Parsifal, Fidelio and Vec Makropulos), the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin (Tannhšuser, Fidelio, Pique Dame and Erwartung under Daniel Barenboim, Der Rosenkavalier and Tannhšuser under Philippe Jordan) and the Bayerische Staatsoper (Salome, Der Rosenkavalier, Parsifal, Jenufa and Wozzeck). For the Salzburg festival's she has sung KŠtya KabanovŠ, Die Tote Stadt, Wozzeck, Fidelio and Vec Makropulos. She has sung with the London Symphony Orchestra (Daniel Harding and Valery Gergiev) and the Berliner Philharmoniker (Sir Simon Rattle) and appears at the Royal Opera House, Metropolitan Opera New York, Netherlands Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Teatro Real Madrid, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona and at the Paris Chatelet. She has also made a highly acclaimed debut at Teatro alla Scala in Milan in Vec Makropulos. Her future engagements include appearances with the London Symphony Orchestra and Gianandrea Noseda and the Philharmonia Orchestra, with Esa-Pekka Salonen and Andris Nelson. She returns to London (Salome and Parsifal), Munich (Wozzeck and Parsifal) and Vienna (Parsifal and Salome). Her recordings include Vec Makropulos from the Salzburg Festival 2011 (DVD), Salome from Baden Baden (DVD), a New Year Eve LehŠr Gala from Dresden with Christian Thielemann (CD and DVD), Die tote Stadt, Die WalkŁre, KŠtya KabanovŠ, Cardillac, Beethoven 9 (with Mikhail Pletnev for DG and Daniel Barenboim for Warner), Wozzeck (with Ingo Metzmacher for EMI) and Fidelio (with Sir Simon Rattle for EMI). Her jazz and chanson programme From Babelsberg to Beverly Hills (devoted to the era of Marlene Dietrich and Zarah Leander) tours to the Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau and to the opera houses of Munich, Berlin, Madrid, Barcelona, Oviedo, Frankfurt, Paris and Milan. Her Kurt Weill recital Two Lives to live has been premiered at the 2011 Salzburg Festival and will among others be presented at the Wiener Staatsoper in 2013. She was voted Singer of the Year by Opernwelt in 1999 and in 2007 she received the Deutsche Theaterpreis Der Faust for her portrayal of Salome. In February 2009 the Austrian Government awarded the title of Kammersšngerin of the Wiener Staatsoper.
