After completing her studies, Alison was invited back to Chetham’s as part of the team of accompanists. During this period she was asked to be the official accompanist for the BBC’s Young Musician of the Year competition and the Aberdeen Festival of Youth. From 1993-2006 she was the accompanist at the Yehudi Menuhin School where she accompanied masterclasses given by Yehudi Menuhin, Daniil Schafran, Mstislav Rostropovich, Steven Isserlis and Andras Schiff amongst others. She toured extensively with the school which lead to her being invited to accompany at the prestigious Kronberg Cello Festival in Germany.
Alison has been the regular accompanist for Nicola Benedetti with whom she enjoyed a busy touring schedule visiting Japan, the USA and Europe as well as music festivals and concert series around the UK and many appearances on television and radio. Other recital partners have included Alina Ibragimova, Francois Rabbath, Dora Schwarzberg and Leonid Gorokhov.
Since 2006, Alison has been regularly invited to work at the Royal College of Music in London which was formalised in 2009 into a post as the coach/accompanist for the string department. Recently, she has been invited to Norway and Singapore to accompany and coach string players at festivals and music schools.
She lives in Surrey with her three teenage children.
