In 2010, Alexander became both a Recommended Artist in Making Music’s Philip and Dorothy Green Award and a Park Lane Group Young Artist, under whose auspices he gave his debut solo recitals at both the Purcell Room and The Wigmore Hall. He has won numerous awards including Guildhall’s Beethoven Prize, prizes in the Brant International Piano Competition and the Beethoven Piano Society of Europe competition, a Countess of Munster award, a Musicians Benevolent Fund Postgraduate Performance Award and an AHRC scholarship. He has taken part in masterclasses with Stephen Kovacevich, Stephen Hough, Richard Goode, Dominique Merlet, Steven Osborne and Yonty Solomon. As a chamber musician he has performed with eminent artists such as Boris Brovtsyn, Alexander Baillie and Mihaela Martin.

Alexander began his piano studies at the Royal College of Music, Junior Department, under Emily Jeffrey. At the RCM he was winner of all of the top competitions, and upon leaving was awarded the Esther Coleman prize for outstanding contribution. He graduated with a first class degree from Clare College, Cambridge, where he led an active concert life as a soloist and chamber musician. He is currently studying with Ronan O’Hora on the Doctorate programme at Guildhall School of Music. Alexander is most grateful to the Martin Musical Scholarship fund for their generous support.
