Recording News - October 2013

Superheroes, political icons and remote galaxies - it's been quite a month in the world of Philharmonia recordings!

Thor: The Dark World

Recorded in August with the composer at the helm, Brian Tyler’s latest score for Marvel is his best to date. Thor: The Dark World sees Chris Hemsworth reprise the role of the super-strong superhero in the action-packed sequel to the 2011 smash-hit film Thor. Tyler’s epic score perfectly complements the drama, ratcheting up the tension as the action gets more nail-biting. The soundtrack also includes a brand new Marvel fanfare, which will feature in future Marvel projects. Download your copy today.

Remote Galaxy

In May 2012 we entered the recording studio with Conductor Laureate Vladimir Ashkenazy to record a number of works by Norwegian composer Flint Juventino Beppe. Continuing the journey of his Grammy-nominated album Flute Mystery, Remote Galaxy was released at the beginning of October and is now available for download on iTunes and Amazon.

James Newton Howard’s soundtrack to Peter Landesman’s Parkland is now available to download. We recorded the score back in June at Abbey Road Studio 2, with acclaimed studio conductor Allan Wilson, who also conducted our recording sessions for Now You See Me and Transformers Unvierse. The film continues its film festival circuit in Stockholm this November.
