We worked with 45 children aged between 8 and 14 to create a new Turangalîla-Symphonie-inspired-masterpiece!
Together with Tim Steiner, and a selection of Philharmonia Orchestra musicians, the young musicians composed a new piece in a weekend, picking the 'best bits' from Messiaen's composition, and then adding some of their own music.
The result was a Turanga-tastic performance at the Mill Arts Centre, Rayleigh. You can hear extracts from the performance and see photographs below.
