Anne-Marie Owens

As one of Britain's leading mezzo-sopranos, Anne-Marie Owens has performed for many of the world's great opera companies, including the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Glyndebourne Opera, Opéra National de Paris, Théâtre Royale de La Monnaie, Opéra de Lausanne, New York City Opera, Santiago Opera, Arizona Opera, Santa Fe Opera and Lyric Opera of Chicago. Anne-Marie's operatic repertoire has included Morozova in Tchaikovsky's Opricnick in Cagliari; Ragonde (Le comte Ory) for Garsington Opera; Witch (Hänsel und Gretel) and Jezibaba (Rusalka) for Opera Australia; Herodias (Salome) for both Santa Fe Opera and Opera North; Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro); Mrs Grose (The Turn of the Screw) for Glyndebourne on Tour; Azucena (Il Trovatore) for Welsh National Opera; Auntie (Peter Grimes) in Naples; Fricka (Das Rheingold) for Nationale Reisopera in the Netherlands; and Dame Hannah (Ruddigore) for Opera North.

Anne-Marie is also much in demand on the concert platform where she regularly performs the works of Mahler, Vaughan Williams, Elgar and the choral works of Verdi, Handel, Mendelssohn, Mozart and Beethoven with such orchestras as the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Detroit Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.

Engagements in 2010/11 include Fricka (Die Walküre) for Nationale Reisoper; Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro) for Opera Naradowa; Katisha (TheMikado) for ENO, Petrovna (The Tsar's Bride) for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and Judith Weir's Miss Fortune for Bregenz Festival.

Subsequent engagements include Miss Fortune at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.
