We aim to set the standards by which public performances and artists of the future will be judged."Walter Legge, founder of the Philharmonia Orchestra
The Philharmonia is committed to presenting the same quality live music in venues throughout the country as it brings to London and the great concert halls of the world. Since 1945, the Philharmonia has performed over 7,000 concerts in 49 countries on 6 continents. In 2009/10, alongside residencies at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, De Montford Hall in Leicester, Bedford Corn Exchange and a partnership with The Anvil in Basingstoke, the Orchestra performed in some of the finest concert halls in Europe, China and Japan.
