Instrumental

Philharmonia players undertake instrumental tuition in a variety of contexts, supporting the work of local music hubs, schools and universities in encouraging young people to continue learning, to join ensembles, and to develop and improve technique and musicality.

Players from the Philharmonia work coaching ensembles across various settings, from school bands to university orchestras, on a broad array of projects. At the University of Leicester, Philharmonia musicians also provide one-to-one instrumental lessons for twenty music scholarship students, with competitive auditions run annually. For aspiring professional players the Philharmonia will often bring Principals to give masterclasses, often given in public.
