Esa-Pekka Salonen on his Violin Concerto
Esa-Pekka Salonen speaks about his Violin Concerto, performed by Leila Josefowicz.
Deutsche Grammophon released Out of Nowhere, a disc of Esa-Pekka Salonen's Violin Concerto and Nyx, featuring Leila Josefowicz and the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra. The title of the disc comes from the pencil markings Josefowicz and Salonen wrote over the first movement of the original score for the Grawemeyer Award-winning concerto. Salonen describes the piece as, in many ways, "a summary of my experiences as a musician and a human being at the watershed age of 50." Order the CD on Amazon today! http://ow.ly/dLhBF
