Forthcoming concerts at Bedford Corn Exchange:
Ashkenazy conducts in Bedford
Jun 16 2013, 19:30 - Bedford Corn Exchange
Vladimir Ashkenazy conducts Elgar's Violin Concerto and Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony
Since the residency started in 1995, the Orchestra has been involved in a number of wide-ranging activities. Central to each season is of course the concerts, which feature the same world-beating, high-profile artists that perform with the Orchestra anywhere else in the world - from Tokyo, Vienna and Paris to London.
Aside from the concerts, the residency involves the Orchestra being a valued part of music making in the area. Our work with people of all ages and backgrounds through the advent of workshops and concerts for children is fundamental to the Orchestra's mission. The Hear and Now project provides a snapshot of the work that goes on.
A season with so many performances enables local audience members a real opportunity to get to know and support the Orchestra. A central body of support, that would not be possible in other venues, exists as the Friends of the Philharmonia in Bedford. Click on the link to find out more.
