The Philharmonia's exploration of Elgar's finest works included the Violin and Cello concertos, Symphonies Nos. 1&2, Enigma Variations, Serenade for Strings, Sea Pictures and The Dream of Gerontius, for which Sir Andrew and the Philharmonia were joined by a stellar team of soloists: Truls Mørk, James Ehnes, Jane Irwin, Catherine Wyn-Rogers, James Gilchrist and Peter Sidhom.
The Series also included recitals by the Soloists of the Philharmonia Orchestra, Elgar Study Days, and a touring exhibition.
This area of the site is dedicated to all things Elgar including interviews with artists, film footage, programme notes and much more.
