Canterbury

One of the Philharmonia Orchestra's four official residencies. The residency, the first by a major symphony orchestra in Kent, sees the Philharmonia perform a series of concerts each year at The Marlowe Theatre, as well as forging links with local education organisations.

In the 2013/14 season, The Marlowe Theatre will see performances from artists including conductors Vladimir Ashkenazy, Lorin Maazel, Paavo Järvi, Jac van Steen and Nicholas Collon, as well as violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja, pianist Juho Pohjonen, and cellists Truls Mørk and Pieter Wispelwey.

Beyond the concert hall, the Philharmonia Orchestra’s interactive digital installation, Universe of Sound, was resident in Canterbury Christ Church University over two weeks in April and May 2013.
