As The Anvil’s Orchestra in Partnership, the Philharmonia is at the heart of classical music in Basingstoke. Bringing flagship projects from London and the international stage, find out more about the Philharmonia’s work in Basingstoke and see behind the scenes on a busy concert day.

This season will see the Philharmonia Orchestra bring to the Anvil many of the same projects which will will take place in London and internationally, including Vladimir Ashkenazy's Rachmaninov concert series (13th April) and the exciting Philharmonia at the Movies (13th March).  New for this year at the Anvil is a series of pre-concert talks which will be held at 6.30pm on the night of the concerts. These are free to come along to and a great way to find out more about the orchestra and the wonderful artists we work with.

Artists who are performing in Basingstoke this season include conductors Yuri Temirkanov, John Wilson and Carl Davis, alongside celebrated soloists such as the Philharmonia's own clarinettist Mark van de Wiel and star pianists Daniil Trifonov, Boris Berezovsky and Nikolai Lugansky.

This season will also see the return of  the Philharmonia's ground-breaking music education project, Orchestra Unwrapped, which will give Hampshire's primary school children the chance to hear the Philharmonia Orchestra live at The Anvil.
