The Philharmonia has been Orchestra in Partnership at The Anvil, Basingstoke, since 2001.
This season sees two big projects from the London series in Basingstoke: Vladimir Ashkenazy's Voices of Revolution, and Esa-Pekka Salonen's Mahler exploration. In the latter programme, the Orchestra’s Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor conducts Mahler’s cosmic First Symphony. Elsewhere, Edward Gardner conducts an all-English programme and the popular Philharmonia at the Movies returns with a romantic film score programme.
Outside the five concerts, pre-concert talks give new perspective on the works performed.
