The 2011/12 Music of Today Concert Season is supported by The Meyer Foundation
Ivan Fedele's Maja is one of the most enchanting vocal cycles of our time. Referring to Greek mythology, it includes alluring incantations, mysterious reverberations, sensuous lyricism and fierce virtuosity – thus evoking a uniquely poetical world. But Fedele has also a penchant for sonic mazes and fantastic paradoxes: his Immagini da Escher pays homage to the famous Dutch graphic artist, who portrayed impossible spaces and made great use of optical illusions. For musicians and audiences alike, Fedele's music provides sheer delight.
