Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 5 in E minor (Op. 64)

Rising superstar violinist Esther Yoo performs Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto, written from a Swiss resort on the shores of Lake Geneva where Tchaikovsky had gone to recuperate from the depression brought on by his disastrous marriage to Antonina Miliukova. Alongside, is the composer's brooding Symphony No. 5, which opens with a motif that Tchaikovsky himself suggested signified his "complete resignation before fate".
