Steven Spielberg once said of John Williams that “[he] has made me a better director than I could ever have been without him”.  The music Williams scored for films such as E.T. and the Star Wars franchise is now indelibly linked to the success of those movies, his themes as iconic as the films themselves. In this special Philharmonia at the Movies concert,  his music features as part of a programme of celebrated themes from some of cinema’s most popular science fiction movies, including Solaris, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Star Trek.

This concert is part of the Philharmonia at the Movies series
