Orchestra Unwrapped is an educational initiative offered by the Philharmonia Orchestra as part of the iOrchestra project in Plymouth, Torbay and Cornwall. It gives hundreds of primary school children the opportunity to experience live music making in an engaging and exciting way. Providing a dynamic, interactive, and accessible introduction to the orchestra and its instruments, Orchestra Unwrapped enables students and teachers to deepen their understanding of classical music whilst having fun.

Orchestra Unwrapped features a live concert with the Philharmonia Orchestra, performing a specially selected programme of musical excerpts. Presented by leading specialist Tim Steiner, the concerts are tailored to guide children on an entertaining, educational and interactive journey through the Orchestra's instruments, players and repertoire. From Rimsky-Korsakov's speedy adventure in Flight of the Bumblebee to Jack Sparrow's popular theme tune Pirates of the Caribbean, the repertoire is specially chosen to engage, inspire, and astonish children.
