Celso Antunes conductor
Canadian Chris Paul Harman (*1970), is one of his generation's most exciting composers anywhere. Defiant of trends and movements, Harman writes music in which nothing is quite as it seems. His first UK showcase presents three works that often feature filmic jump-cuts and zooms: iridescent beauty takes turns with madcap energy and wry humour, the most refined sonorities mesh together with jagged and visceral rhythms. The listener is swept along into a compelling labyrinth of musical time and memory.
