Salonen conducts Sibelius

Before the Music of Today portrait of Colin Matthews, the Philharmonia Orchestra's Principal Conductor, Esa-Pekka Salonen, will announce Julian Anderson's successor as Music of Today Artistic Director for the 2011/12 season onwards.

Music of Today’s new season opens with Colin Matthews’s Suns Dance – which more than twenty years after its première remains one of the most challenging and virtuosic pieces ever composed for ensemble. A brilliantly sustained dynamo of energy and rhythm by one of the UK’s best-loved composers.

Presented by Julian Anderson in conversation with Colin Matthews. FREE admission and no tickets required - just turn up!
