Nelsons conducts Brahms

Wednesday 22 Jan 2014, 7.30pm
De Montfort Hall, Leicester

Concert

Andris Nelsons conductor

Hélène Grimaud piano

This concert sees the Philharmonia’s Brahms Cycle come to Leicester. Brahms humorously referred to his Fourth Symphony as no more than ‘a few entr’actes and polkas which I happened to have lying about’, while he affectionately dedicated his Second Piano Concerto to his childhood piano teacher, tonight played by the elegant tour de force of the piano, Hélène Grimaud, renowned for her sheer technical brilliance and praised by the LA Times for her pure, “crystalline tone”.

This concert is part of the Andris Nelsons: Brahms Cycle

The Andris Nelsons: Brahms Cycle is supported by The Meyer Foundation
